Welcome, my name is Paul.

I'll start with this: believing you can learn is as important as any way of thinking you can have; if you don't believe you can learn something new, you're unlikely to spend much time getting better at it (it's called having a 'fixed mindset').

To help you update some false learning beliefs you might have, I've made a short document about Learning Myths for you.

It's free to download, and you don't need to input your email address to read it; it's just a welcome gift.

Thanks for visiting me here, and I hope to see you again.

How to focus your curiosity on learning what matters to you

There are other choices.

How eating and drinking habits are shaped by advertising

How growth mindset & mental imagery helped me recover from two surg...

I stopped studying psychology so I could apply it

A bit about me 👋

As a millennial, I had the benefit of growing up with the internet, and also experiencing life before it. The best thing about this was that I learned how to use the web as a tool, whilst also knowing that the life I wanted to live would be found (mostly) offline.

Spending time in the gym helped a lot with practicing this relationship because weight-training is not possible to do online. What is possible, however, is finding and learning from amazing athletes, many of whom I simply would not have had access to otherwise.

Learning in this way helped me form the belief that if someone had learned how to do something, there was no insurmountable reason why I couldn't do something similar (if it was important enough to me). Studying psychology helped me to understand how learning happens, and I decided to use this knowledge to focus on things I wanted to be good at.

It's my opinion that knowing how to teach yourself (i.e. being an autodidact) is one of the most important skills to develop. When you're confident you can learn something yourself, gaps in understanding are filled by finding answers and applying insights.

This is the benefit of being a self-taught person, and sharing about self-education and living freely is a big focus of mine.

If you could go back to school and learn anything, what would you choose? It may not be possible to travel back in time, but the 'old dogs can't learn new tricks' idea is well outdated. No matter whether you'd like to learn how to cook, have healthier relationships, grow a garden, repair cars, start a new business (or anything in between), this 3-part video class will help you on your way!

PAY WHATEVER YOU WANT

What does it mean to be an autodidact?

The word 'autodidact' is simply a fancy way of saying 'self-taught'. If you have ever watched a 'how-to' video, or read a book on a niche subject; you too are an autodidact. Like when learning a hobby, you become your own teacher in order to know something interesting or valuable. By focusing this natural ability towards how you want to live day-to-day, it's possible to
teach yourself ways of thinking, feeling, and behaving that give you more of what you want from your life, now and in the future.
